Foyles Charing Cross
Join us at Foyles Charing Cross on Saturday 30 January 2027 for an exciting day of pitching, networking and panels for aspiring novelists. This day-long festival will empower new writers with a jam-packed schedule of events focused on demystifying the writing and publishing process with expert insights from bestselling authors, top publishers and leading literary agents. We have 60 free tickets for under-represented writers available across the different events.
Across two hours, 60 writers will pitch their novels to Curtis Brown and C&W literary agents during 15-minute one-to-ones. The writers will also join a roundtable discussion with publishing professionals. £15 per ticket for successful applicants. 20 free places available for under-represented writers.
Across one and a half hours, bestselling author Erin Kelly will take you on a deep dive into withholding and revealing information in fiction. Working out what your characters know and don’t know is an important part of plotting a novel. Features two writing exercises and a chance to ask questions. £20 per ticket. 20 free places available for under-represented writers.
Join us for an aftrenoon of lively panel discussions. Our first panel features debut novelists Grace Alexander (The Lowe Job), Lucy Apps (Gloria Don’t Speak) and Manish Chauhan (Belgrave Road). Then you’ll hear from award-winning crime authors Vaseem Khan and Chris Whitaker in conversation with CBC's Founder Anna Davis. £28 per ticket for both panels. 20 free places available for under-represented writers.
